Türkiye’ye turist vizesiyle giriş yapan yabancı uyruklu kişiler, kendi ülkelerinden aldıkları ehliyetleri yalnızca 30 gün kullanabilirler.
Eğer yabancı, sonrasında ikametgâh izni aldıysa ya da yurtdışından ikametgâh izni veya çalışma izniyle geldiyse maksimum 6 ay kullanabilir. Fakat ehliyetinin noter tasdikli tercümesi de mutlaka olmak zorundadır.
6 aydan uzun süre araç kullanılacaksa mutlaka yabancı ehliyetin Türk ehliyetine çevrilmesi zorunludur. Değiştirme yapılmadığı takdirde “ehliyetsiz araç kullanma” cezai işlemi uygulanır.

Validity Periods for Foreign Driving Licenses in Turkey:
Foreign nationals entering Turkey on a tourist visa can only use their driver’s licenses issued in their home country for 30 days.
If the foreigner subsequently obtained a residence permit or arrived from abroad with a residence or work permit, they can use it for a maximum of 6 months. However, a notarised translation of your driving licence is also required.
If you plan to drive for more than 6 months, you must convert your foreign driver’s license to a Turkish one. Failure to do so will result in a penalty for “driving without a license”
