Türkiye’ye tedavi amacıyla gelen yabancıların tedavi süreçleri eğer sahip oldukları vize süresini aşacak ise “kamu sağlığını tehdit eden bulaşıcı bir hastalık taşımamaları halinde” sağlık amaçlı kısa dönem ikamet izni alabilirler.
Tedavisi devam eden yabancılar, kamu veya özel hastanelerden durum bildirim raporu almak zorundadırlar. Bu raporda mutlaka, tedavinin masraflarının hasta tarafından karşılanacağının belirtilmesi gerekmektedir. İkamet izni başvurusunu, bu raporla birlikte tedavi gördükleri ilin Göç İdaresine yapabilirler.
İkamet tezkeresi, tedavi süresine bağlı olarak verilir. Her seferinde 2 yılı geçmemek kaydıyla düzenlenir. Eğer hastanın bir refakatçiye ihtiyacı varsa, onun içinde aynı kapsamda ikamet izni düzenlenir.

Attention to Foreign Nationals Visiting Our Country for Medical Reasons:
Foreign nationals coming to Turkey for medical treatment may be granted a short-term residence permit for medical purposes if their treatment is expected to extend beyond the duration of their visa, provided they do not carry an infectious disease that poses a threat to public health.
Foreign nationals currently undergoing treatment must obtain a medical certificate from a public or private hospital. This certificate must explicitly state that the patient will cover the costs of the treatment. They may submit their application for a residence permit, together with this report, to the Migration Directorate in the province where they are receiving treatment.
A residence permit is issued depending on the duration of treatment. It is issued for a period not exceeding two years on each occasion. If the patient requires a career, a residence permit is issued for the carer under the same terms.
